We used St Margaret’s in the latter stages of my Father’s terminal cancer to provide overnight care and bridge the gap between Marie Curie and family support.

We contacted St Margaret’s on short notice, and on each occasion, they communicated with us clearly and concisely and provided the support we needed. The carer who stayed with my Dad overnight was personable, proficient, compassionate, warm and welcoming. The result of the services provided, was complete peace of mind to both the family and our Dad, resulting in a restful night and total confidence that St Margaret’s would look after Dad, with the love, respect and compassion that he deserved.

First I’d like to let you know how thrilled we are with the care that Mum is receiving form your team. She was a bit apprehensive at first but has settled into her new routine very quickly and keeps telling me how wonderful all the carers are. I think the icing on the cake was when she realised that she used to teach Ann which gave her a real personal connection! Thank-you so much, it’s very reassuring for me to know that Mum is in such good hands. We think we were lucky that Social Services referred us to St Margaret’s.

Could not have wished for better carers for Dad. They all went over and above, especially over the past weeks as his condition deteriorated.

The carer who visited on the day Dad passed away gave him a wet shave as he looked so out of charter with stubble. Dad would have being very grateful of this as he took pride in his appearance and passed looking well cared for and his usual groomed appearance.

Mum was very frail but wanted to stay in her home of many years. Without St. Margret's support this would have been impossible. The family initially wanted to ensure that mum was safe. Doing everything that mum couldn't carry out for herself. But what you also get is companionship especially when mum started getting used to familiar faces.

that mum couldn’t carry out for herself. But what you also get is companionship especially when mum started getting used to familiar faces.
Their management systems are very good ensuring nothing is missed. Also recording everything in a on-line diary which is open to review. This brings peace of mind.
In our case, in practice this meant 2 visits around lunchtime and teatime to prepare and serve meals but also check various things around the house to ensure a clean and tidy home.
It all worked very well and we have St. Margaret’s to thank.

My brother has special needs around social impairments and cognition. He has been living independently for years and due to a change of physical needs now requires more support in his own home. St Margaret’s provided first-class support from day 1. Staff coming in are truly caring and professional.

As I do not live locally but have a legal responsibility for my brother I have interacted with St Margaret’s office quite frequently during this transition period in order to coordinate on practical aspects including medication. St Margaret’s staff support trips out for appointments or for a change of scene which is a great help to my brother. This has all gone smoothly and a few hiccups have quickly been sorted. St Margaret’s has shown they can really work as a team with the family, some of the office staff get involved in visits so they understand and have insight into my brother’s needs and abilities. It is reassuring that I can use the portal to see how visits have gone.

The carers have been great with my mum, they have been professional and caring, treating my mum with dignity and respect. She has developed a bond with a number of her regular

carers who sit and chat with her when they have completed their tasks. My sister and I have found St Margaret’s very easy to work with, the team have been very responsive to our requests and needs. My mum has now gone into a residential care home and we would like to thank the team at St Margaret’s for all they have done for us.

St Margaret’s have supported my parents over the past 4 years. Initially, they provided care for my mother who suffered with Dementia, and more recently they have cared for my elderly father, allowing both of my parents to live in their own home for much longer than they otherwise could have managed.

At all times we found the Care team to be professional, friendly, flexible, caring, and respectful of my parent’s individual needs. They also reacted quickly in emergency situations. They built good relationships with both my parents and the wider family.
